A picturesque region of Georgia, which has not yet been reached by civilization. Tusheti is an ideal place for wildlife lovers. Moreover, every house in local villages has the status of a cultural monument! We will get to Tusheti National Park by off-road vehicle. Having risen to the Aban Pass at an altitude of 2926 meters above sea level, we find ourselves in the closed world of Tusheti. Here we will enjoy four days of cycling and one day of horseback riding through the wild nature, enjoying the picturesque mountain landscapes!
Flight to Tbilisi. You travel to the hotel on your own. Meeting of the cycling tour participants at the hotel in Tbilisi. In the evening, group meeting and briefing before the start of the tour. You choose your bikes.
Early in the morning, loading of belongings and equipment into a 4x4 Delica minibus. Early departure to the Alazani Valley - the birthplace of the best Georgian wine varieties. On the way, we will stop and have lunch. Early in the morning, the ascent will begin on SUVs along a difficult and dangerous rocky road. This journey will take almost the whole day, despite the fact that it is only 70 kilometers. Two-thirds of the way will be spent climbing a serpentine road that crosses the slopes of majestic mountains. It is time to catch your breath at the Aban Pass (2926 m above sea level). The remaining third is a descent and ascent along an equally dangerous road. We will overcome this section of the road by bicycle. Then we will load the bicycles back into the car, because... Ahead awaits the ascent to the village of Omalo. Those who wish will be able to ride bicycles. It is noteworthy that the Telavi-Omalo road was featured in the BBC series “The World’s Most Dangerous Roads. Omalo is the local center of the district, but not in the usual sense. The center is quite geographical. From the outside, it is a small village where all the roads converge. If we have time, we will take a short walk to Upper Omalo. Here is located a group of towers, the complex of which is called the Keselo Fortress. From here, a spectacular view of a significant part of the hard-to-reach Tusheti opens. We return to Nizhneye Omalo to the guesthouse. Those who wish can take a steam bath in a wood-fired sauna. Dinner with dishes of Georgian national cuisine.
Breakfast. Today we will visit several villages of Tusheti. First we will ascend to the village of Dartlo, where all the houses have the status of cultural monuments. We will drive to the villages of Dano, Chesh and Parsma. In the latter, at an altitude of 2100 m above sea level, there is a complex of tower houses. Dinner. Sauna is available.
Breakfast. This day we will visit the villages of Shenak and Diklo. The first of them is just 4 kilometers away, but the path is blocked by a deep gorge with one of the main rivers of Tusheti - Pirikitskaya Alazani. Now there is a sharp rise to the opposite side of the gorge. In the village of Shenak there is the Sameba temple of 1843 and the "niches" of the local sanctuary - a relic of pagan beliefs. An area where women are traditionally forbidden to enter. The village of Diklo is located right on the border with Dagestan. We return to Omalo. Dinner. Sauna is available. By bike approx. 25 km, elevation gain approx. 600 m.
Breakfast. Today there is an opportunity to change activities. We will exchange bicycles for Tusheti horses and go on a day trip by horseback to Lake Oreti. On the way we will cross the Tushinskaya Alazani River. We will return to Omalo for dinner. Tonight a sauna will be just right!
Breakfast. In the morning we leave the hospitable Omalo. We load our bikes and belongings into the SUVs. We will climb to the Aban Pass by SUV. Now we will sit on our bikes. A dizzying descent along a 37-kilometer-long dirt serpentine awaits us, which will take your breath away! We drive to Telavi, where we pack our bikes into the escort vehicle. Transfer to Sighnaghi – the City of Love, where we spend the night in a guesthouse. Free time. Dinner on your own.
Breakfast. We will go to Tbilisi. On the way we will visit Mtskheta, Jvari. In the evening you will explore Old Tbilisi. Lunch and dinner in local restaurants. Night transfer to the airport. End of the bike tour.

Every day, tourists travel 20-50 km through mountainous and forested terrain. The hike is intended for people of average and higher physical fitness. As many years of experience in cycling shows, everyone meets the norm, but with different levels of comfort. We recommend doing additional endurance sports at least a month or two before the trip. If you are ready, you will be able to enjoy the surrounding landscapes.
